US Jobs Could Bring a September Rate Hike From Fed

Bumper July jobs data from the United States have again started to stoke expectations for a rate rise in September Federal Reserve, just as other major central banks around the world are unleashing always looser policy.

This tone slightly positive may persist as a backdrop for the world economy in the coming week, with growth data due to the euro zone, Germany and Italy, as well as releases key inflation, industrial production and retail sales in China.

Last week the Bank of England fired its first salvo Brexit post - cut discount rate to a new record of 0.25 percent, while reviving its program of purchase of assets - and hinted that further easing was in the pipeline.

Governor Mark Carney said he unveiled a "special package of measures" because the economic outlook had changed markedly after the vote in June Brexit. The Bank expects the economy to stagnate for the rest of 2016 and suffer weak growth next year.

The slow growth and virtually no euro zone inflation will also force the European Central Bank to extend and expand the scope of its asset purchase program, a Reuters poll of economists showed last month.
